Position: Preschool English Teacher

Location: Chengdu city, Sichuan province, China

Native English speaker
120hrs TEFL or TESOL certified (certificate ready by end of January 2024)
Patient, reliable, with a friendly and energetic disposition
Experience working with young children is a great asset but not a requirement
10 work months: monthly salary RMB15,000 (approx.CAD$2,880/month)
Paid summer break (roughly a month): summer break allowance RMB7,500 (approx.CAD$1,440)
Rent-free, non-shared apartment accommodation near the preschool neighborhood
Airfare reimbursement for a one-way air ticket to China after 1st week of teaching
Travel allowance upon completion: RMB6,000 (approx.CAD$1,150)
Before departure, a free Early Childhood Education (ECE) basics workshop with a certificate from a reputable Canadian preschool
Free work lunch at preschool during working days
Free basic medical insurance in China
20hrs free basic conversational Mandarin classes if required
Guidance on applying for Chinese Work Z Visa
Assistance on Work Permit, Residence Permit, Residence Registration, and local medical examination in China with all fees covered
M to F five-day work week: daily working hours 8:30am to 5:30pm including max. 4hrs instructional time, 2.5hrs lunch-break, & the remaining working hours for teaching preparation etc.
Preschool English instructional materials and software are provided
Preschool children English teaching orientation training upon arrival
Collaborative work environment
Continuous teaching support and daily life assistance from local staff

The following outline provides examples of general roles and responsibilities you’ll have both in and out of the classroom:
Prepare lesson plans and teach assigned classes
Utilize the instructional materials and teaching software
Attend staff meetings for teaching discussion
Make English teaching and learning fun for young learners, such as:
- Use of body languages, drama games & pictures to demonstrate meaning;
- Play games, make crafts, and sing songs;
- Storytelling, rehearse rhymes, play sports, and all of your creative teaching ideas.
In addition, your knowledge and North American experiences will add crucial dynamics to the Chinese kids learning conversational English and Western culture. What you need the most is your desire and dedication to make a difference, everything else will come naturally.
