If you have native English speaker proficiency, and hold a bachelor’s degree, you are eligible to apply for the CPET (China Preschool English Teaching) program. Recent university graduates from Canada and USA who exhibit qualities such as easy-going, responsible, open-minded and a positive attitude are great fit for the CPET program teaching position.

I haven’t received my Bachelor’s Degree yet, can I still apply?
Yes. You’ll need a bachelor’s degree to apply for the Chinese work visa. However, we welcome applications from university graduating class. Please find out your expected graduation date, and submit your diploma as soon as it’s issued.
No, the CPET program does not require an application fee.
I don’t have a TEFL or TESOL certificate yet, can I still apply?
Yes. You can submit your TEFL or TESOL certificate at a later date. A 120-hour TEFL or TESOL certification is a requirement for the Chinese work visa application.
All the CPET program teaching positions are placed in top private preschools located in urban Chengdu city, Sichuan Province, China.
Yes, a structured curriculum will be provided for you to follow, featuring a collection of children's English storybooks complemented by relevant teaching software. In addition, each preschool classroom is equipped with an interactive smart board to enhance teaching capabilities.
Your students will be preschoolers range from 2 to 6 years old.
The class size is usually about 15 to 25 children per class.
No, you don’t need to share your apartment with other teachers. Upon arrival, each teacher will be assigned with his/her individual apartment. All apartments are located in safe and convenient neighborhoods. Furthermore, the apartment is provided rent-free; hence the teachers are only responsible for covering utility costs and other personal living expenses.
The commute can fluctuate from day-to-day. However, depending on where you live, most teachers typically travel around 20 minutes using public shared bikes to get to their preschool.
Yes. We strongly advise all participants to purchase private health insurance and medical care before your departure.
We offer support at every step of your journey teaching and living in China. Prior to your departure, our Canada-based team will guide you through the Chinese work visa process, and you will receive a free early childhood education basics workshop training form Saplings Outdoor Program. Additionally, our Chengdu-based local partner will offer continuous support throughout your stay in China, including 24/7 availability for emergency situations. We aim to provide on-going support and preparation teachers need to have a successful and rewarding experience participating the CPET program.
Potential challenges may include culture shock, language barriers, homesickness and so on. Nonetheless, maintaining a positive attitude will help you transform these challenges into rewarding aspects of a valuable teaching and learning experience.
